    John Deere’s first female and forestry technicians have been registered in the latest intake for the company’s award winning apprenticeship scheme, managed by training provider ProVQ, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

    The rollout of John Deere’s G-series forest machines continues with the mid-size 1110G, 1210G and 1510G forwarders. All the models have the new 6.8L John Deere 6068 PowerTech Plus engine meeting the latest Stage 4/Final Tier 4 emissions regulations. The powerful engine offers more output and torque, and the even better coupling with the power train results in a significant improvement in tractive force.

    A 78-year old Staffordshire man achieved one of his life’s ambitions when he took two John Deere tractors, spanning 50 years of production, for a spin at the company’s UK headquarters in Langar, Nottingham last month.

  6. John Deere Gators get on track

    John Deere has approved the use of Camso rubber tracks on its Gator utility vehicles in Europe, following their availability in the US for several years. An XUV 855D Gator equipped with a Camso UTV T4S four-track system supplied by UK distributor Supatracks was recently featured on the company’s stand at LAMMA 2016.

    John Deere Limited celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK and Ireland in 2016, beginning with a special display at LAMMA in January. The company started trading from Langar in January 1966, and the original premises are still in use today as John Deere’s visitor centre and national parts distribution centre.

    The youngest John Deere Gator utility vehicle hire fleet in the UK has just got even bigger. Morris Leslie Event Hire has expanded the fleet at its Woking depot in Surrey to over 120 Gators, and after listening to customer feedback the business has bought 10 XUV 855D S4 four-seater models to complement the fleet.
