    A 78-year old Staffordshire man achieved one of his life’s ambitions when he took two John Deere tractors, spanning 50 years of production, for a spin at the company’s UK headquarters in Langar, Nottingham last month.

    John Deere Limited celebrates its 50th anniversary in the UK and Ireland in 2016, beginning with a special display at LAMMA in January. The company started trading from Langar in January 1966, and the original premises are still in use today as John Deere’s visitor centre and national parts distribution centre.

    The British Guild of Agricultural Journalists and John Deere Limited have announced the dates of this year’s training course for potential agricultural and horticultural journalists - Sunday to Tuesday July 12 to 14, 2015, plus three days’ work experience to be arranged for successful applicants.

    Twenty-seven year old James Marshall from Somerset is the 2014 winner of the annual British Guild of Agricultural Journalists Training Award, sponsored by John Deere Limited. This year's runner-up is Fiona Turnbull, a sheep farmer and part-time farming columnist from Kinross in Scotland, who won her place on the course through the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists’ 2014 Congress bursary, sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland.
  5. Chris Wiltshire

    Chris Wiltshire has been appointed the new branch tactical marketing manager at John Deere Limited, from 1st October 2014. Chris replaces Gordon Day, who has elected to retire at the end of September after 31 years’ distinguished service with the company. In his new role, Chris will be responsible for delivery of all John Deere’s agricultural and turf marketing programmes and activities in the UK and Ireland.
  6. John Deere announces sponsorship of PGA TOUR player Zach Johnson

    MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 18, 2014) – John Deere today announced it has become a corporate sponsor for professional golfer Zach Johnson, the seventh-ranked player in the Official World Golf Rankings. The arrangement further strengthens Deere’s commitment to golf by building on its role as a title sponsor of a PGA TOUR event and as the TOUR’s official supplier of golf course equipment.

    A total of 19 young service technicians have graduated from the latest John Deere Ag Tech, Parts Tech and Turf Tech advanced apprenticeship programmes, run by national training provider Babcock. Iain Bond from dealer Sharmans Agricultural Ltd of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire was named ag & turf apprentice of the year, while parts apprentice of the year was Ryan Murch of Smallridge Bros Ltd, Barnstaple in Devon.

    Mannheim & Limburgerhof, Germany, December 17th, 2013 – John Deere and BASF today announced plans to jointly develop a suite of integrated precision farming and farm management solutions for improved execution in the field. These tools, developed together with growers, will provide enhanced crop walking services and tailored agronomic advice. These will help growers to turn data into management decisions more efficiently.
