    The British Guild of Agricultural Journalists and John Deere Limited have announced the dates of this year’s training course for potential agricultural and horticultural journalists - Sunday to Tuesday July 12 to 14, 2015, plus three days’ work experience to be arranged for successful applicants.

    John Deere turf dealer Balmers GM Ltd has relocated to new, state of the art premises at Manchester Road, Dunnockshaw, Burnley, as part of its ongoing development as one of the UK’s largest groundcare dealerships. The official opening took place in early February, with over 100 suppliers and customers attending.

    During the season, maintaining the grass at Northam Farm Holiday Park is similar to painting the Forth Road Bridge: the ground staff go round the 70 acres of grass on the site with their John Deere mowers and when they get back to the starting point, it's time to go around again.

  9. 7700A PrecisionCut fairway mower

    One of John Deere’s new A Model fairway mowers, a 7700A PrecisionCut model, will be shown for the first time at BTME 2015 in Harrogate. The company will be taking a small-scale stand to highlight the range’s advanced technology features, which are designed to produce a higher quality finish on golf courses and other sports and amenity turf areas, as well as provide users with greater control of the machines and easier operator training.

    Twenty-seven year old James Marshall from Somerset is the 2014 winner of the annual British Guild of Agricultural Journalists Training Award, sponsored by John Deere Limited. This year's runner-up is Fiona Turnbull, a sheep farmer and part-time farming columnist from Kinross in Scotland, who won her place on the course through the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists’ 2014 Congress bursary, sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland.
